The Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars will wear their new Rivalries uniforms for the first time during Week 8 games on Sunday.

Both home teams will face their divisional rivals at 1 p.m. ET. The Lions host the Minnesota Vikings on Fox, while the Jaguars take on the Indianapolis Colts on CBS. These are the final two teams in the NFC North and AFC South to debut their alternate looks this season.

The Lions' Nike-designed kit features a white jersey and pants with a Honolulu blue helmet. The team described the helmet decals as using a carbon fiber texture to symbolize elite performance and connect to Detroit's automotive and racing history. The Jaguars' design pays homage to Jacksonville and Duval County. Their helmet is teal, a color the franchise has never used on its primary or alternate headgear before. The back bumper displays the word Duval, and the front features the local 904 area code.

The Jaguars will pair the teal helmet with a white jersey and black pants. The team stated that the number font is inspired by the city's historic music venues and southern rock influence. The Lions' design is part of the same NFL initiative that created the uniforms for their neighbors.

The program requires teams to wear the new kit once per year. However, the design remains in the rotation for the following three years. The AFC East and NFC West teams launched the concept in 2025. The AFC West and NFC East will follow in 2027, with the AFC North and NFC South scheduled for 2028. By 2028, all 32 teams will have unveiled their Rivalries uniforms.

Only two teams have worn these new kits in game action this season. The Indianapolis Colts wore theirs during a Week 3 victory over the Houston Texans. The Green Bay Packers debuted their look in a 31-7 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 5. The record for teams wearing these specific alternate uniforms is currently 2-0.

The remaining Rivalries games for the season are scheduled for Weeks 10, 11, 15, and 16. The Jaguars will wear their kit again when they visit the Tennessee Titans on November 15. The Colts will wear theirs against the Texans on November 19. The Lions will face the Vikings in Week 15, and the Packers will play the Bears in Week 16.
