Anderson .Paak and Cordae concluded their multi-city promotional tour for the album Heavy Is The Crown with a live performance in New York City on October 30.
The duo performed from the back of a moving vehicle on East 14th Street in Manhattan. The stop marked the final event in a series of pop-up shops that previously included dates in Los Angeles, London, San Francisco, and Chicago. A special block party in West Hollywood also served as a stop on the tour. Fans gathered on the street to watch the performance, which took place as the sun set. Many attendees had been waiting for several hours before the artists arrived.
The performers played the album's lead single, “A Good Day,” during the set. The track samples Bill Withers' 1977 song “Lovely Day” and references Ice Cube's 1993 hit “It Was A Good Day.” The group also engaged the crowd by waving their hands in a gesture associated with the phrase “Hey! Ho!”
Merchandise was available for purchase during the event. Attendees could buy hoodies, T-shirts, and drumsticks. Exclusive vinyl editions of the album were also sold on site. Fans who purchased items had the opportunity to have them autographed by the artists.
The album Heavy Is The Crown is available on vinyl and streaming platforms. The New York event closed out the promotional run for the record.
Some fans reported waiting for the performance since noon. The group interacted with attendees after the music ended. The vehicle continued moving through commuter traffic during parts of the show.
