Portnoy Posts 8.1 For Randy's, Gets Football Talk From Young Fans

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy handed Randy's Wooster Street Pizza an 8.1 in his One Bite Pizza Review posted Wednesday, Oct. 28, after visiting the 285 E Center St shop in Manchester. He rated Mulberry Street Pizza in Manchester an 8.2 during the same trip.

Portnoy said he scores New Haven-style apizza lower than other pies. "I am hard on the apizza, because it's my favorite (style of) pizza," he said. "It's a gold medal pizza. You have to hold it to a standard. It's Sally's. It's Frank Pepe's. It's Modern. People take trips to New Haven (for the pizza)." He also called the restaurant "well put together," noting Matchbox cars and other collectible vehicles used as decor, including glass display cases built into tables.

Most attention went to a parking lot exchange after the review. Portnoy asked two young fans whether they follow the Patriots. One said he roots for the Jaguars. "Why?" Portnoy asked. The other fan said he does not watch football and prefers soccer. Portnoy replied, "We're in America though." Randy's Wooster Street Pizza is located at 285 E Center St in Manchester.
