Transport Infrastructure Ireland approved a set of toll increases effective in 2027. The board voted to raise fees on all 10 tolls across the national road network. The hikes target both private drivers and heavy goods vehicles.
Drivers on the M50 will see the smallest rise. Registered car users with tags or video accounts will pay 10 cent more per trip. Unregistered car users face a 20 cent increase. Goods vehicles under 2,000kg will see 10 cent or 20 cent hikes based on their registration status. Heavier HGVs on the M50 will pay 20 cent or 30 cent more.
Most public-private partnership toll roads will also see price jumps. Car and motorcycle rates on the M3 between Clonee and Kells remain flat. At all other PPP locations, car rates will go up by 10 cent. HGVs over 3,500kg with four axels will pay 30 cent more, except on the M3 section where the hike is 10 cent.
The Dublin Port Tunnel will have a new peak-time charge. Southbound drivers toward Dublin will pay €15 instead of €14 during the morning rush. This applies only from 6am to 10am, Monday through Friday. The tunnel’s standard rate stays the same at other times.
TII stated the Dublin Tunnel change matches recent years’ approaches. The agency cited rising traffic volumes in the southbound peak period. It also noted the need to preserve capacity for heavy goods vehicles accessing the port.
