A Clifton woman faces theft charges after allegedly depositing more than $14,000 from unauthorized eBay sales into her personal bank account.

Jessica Szurick, 42, was charged with theft by unlawful taking on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Police in Fairfield said she worked as a senior regional manager at Preferred Pool Management Inc. on Daniel Road East.

Szurick employed the company from May 2018 to July 2026. Her LinkedIn profile indicates she oversaw 161 commercial aquatic facilities across New Jersey and managed a seasonal workforce of approximately 315 employees.

Fairfield police began an investigation on Aug. 27 after the company owner reported that Szurick had been selling merchandise through an unauthorized eBay account. The items included industrial machinery and pool equipment. Financial records obtained via subpoena showed approximately $14,253 from three transactions went to an account registered to Szurick instead of the business.

The owner also reported unauthorized purchases made with a company credit card. Detective Nicholas Cocchi reviewed digital evidence, financial records, and business documents to identify Szurick as the person responsible. Preferred Pool Management filed a lawsuit against her in early September, according to court records.

Szurick served as chief operating officer for United Pool Management LLC from July through September 2026. She is scheduled to appear in Essex County Superior Court on Dec. 9.
