Voronezh air defenses intercepted 113 drones during an overnight attack that struck key industrial targets in the Russian city.

Ukrainian open-source intelligence channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ identified the Voronezhsintezkauchuk rubber plant and the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association, known as VASO, as the primary sites hit. Voronezhsintezkauchuk is a subsidiary of the Sibur group and manufactures synthetic rubbers and polymers. VASO belongs to the Ilyushin Aviation Complex division of the United Aircraft Corporation and produces components for the Ilyushin Il-96 airliner.

Governor Aleksandr Gusev of Voronezh Oblast confirmed to Interfax that fires broke out at several industrial businesses, though he did not name them in his initial statement. Gusev described the incidents as having no major consequences, a characterization that contrasts with damage reports from local media and observers.

Beyond the factories, Gusev reported fires in a business center, an apartment building, two dacha settlements, a school stadium, and a garage cooperative. He noted that building facades and windows sustained damage in nearly every district of the city.

Air defense units shot down more than 70 drones over the city of Voronezh. The total count of 113 intercepts includes units downed over the wider urban area and several districts of the oblast. Russian media outlet Astra provided specific impact locations, including a drone hit on the Galereya Chizhova business center at 35A Koltsovskaya Street.

Astra also identified explosion sites near residential buildings at 52A 25th Yanvarya Street and 4K Arkhitektora Troitskovo Street. Additional damage was recorded at the Uritsky residential complex on 135 Uritskovo Street. At a car park on 275/1 45th Strelkovoy Divizii Street, flames consumed at least ten vehicles.

Residents reported hearing explosions and air defense operations for over an hour. The city was covered in smoke during the engagement, and no formal air raid warning was issued before the strikes began.
