Nine people died when a Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County on Sunday, Nov. 1. Among the victims was Captain Jeff Gregory, a 55-year-old father of three who lived in Limerick. His family identified him as the pilot of the aircraft, designated N722BD, following a National Transportation Safety Board press conference on Monday, Nov. 2.

The flight was traveling from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Gregory had roots in Pennsylvania, where he attended Limerick Chapel in Montgomery County during his childhood. Friends and family described him as a lifelong Christian who began aviation training in the 1990s. He attended a small Christian school and later worked with his classmate and longtime neighbor, David Peters.

Peters remembered Gregory as a diligent and dependable man who dreamed of becoming a pilot. He noted that Gregory loved wearing his leather bomber jacket. A Facebook tribute shared by extended family stated that Gregory left behind his wife, Cheryl, and their three children. The tribute emphasized his faith and his career built around his passion for aviation.

A cousin wrote in the tribute, “Please pray for Cheryl, their three children, and everyone who loved Captain Jeff Gregory.” The NTSB is currently investigating the crash. The agency identified the aircraft operator as Aurora Aviation, which does business as Upper Jet. Officials said the flight lost radar and radio contact while en route to the Bahamas.

Loved ones are invited to share memories, funeral details, fundraiser information, or photos with the local press. The family has requested that updates be shared via email. The crash remains under active investigation by federal authorities.
