Cattie Fleming, a Cherry Hill resident who worked in human resources, died at the age of 37.

The obituary states she was born and raised in Cherry Hill and graduated from Camden Catholic High School. She later earned a degree in psychology from Rutgers University. Her husband, Dan, and two children, Graham and Shannon, survive her.

Fleming first visited an emergency room in 2024 with persistent pelvic pain. A CT scan found a tumor in her rectum, a mass on her liver, and nodules in her lungs. A GoFundMe page notes that her diagnosis arrived less than a year after her husband faced a life-threatening medical emergency, which left the family financially strained.

The obituary describes Fleming as having a witty sense of humor and a love of history. It notes her passion for her Irish heritage and her love of animals. The text says she liked to call things as she saw them and was never in a rush to get anywhere too fast.

She is also survived by her parents, Gerry and Terri, and her siblings Gerry, Denise, Tessy, and Ron. Her in-laws Maureen and Joe, along with her cats Izzy and Peppy, also survive her. A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Light Church in Cherry Hill.

The GoFundMe was created to cover the financial burden of her cancer treatment. As of Monday, Nov. 2, the campaign had raised more than $145,000.
